Our CMDA® Breeders & Farms
Not just anyone can become a Colorado Mountain Dog breeder
Our CMDA® approved breeders go through a rigorous process of testing their breeding dogs, both male and female, vet examinations, hip certifications through OFA or Penn HIP testing, Brucellosis, and DNA testing
(Just because it LOOKS like a CMD, doesn't make it so!)
We also check references-Farm visits are expected-because we want to meet your dog!
We do not allow breeding of dogs that are not actually guarding animals.
True Colorado Mountain dogs are
livestock guardian dogs
and they must have those natural instincts and guarding experience.
(No, we won't allow NON-LGD BREEDS in the mix. Please don't hesitate to ask us why.)
Rigorous? Yes! To ensure that the puppies that are being bred, are being "thoughtfully bred" and are true

Looking for a Colorado Mountain dog puppy?
Please do your due diligence in finding a Colorado Mountain Dog Association® approved breeder. You will never find an approved breeder of the CMDA®, selling Colorado Mountain Dog puppies out of a back yard. Ask to see the
owners "CMDA® certification paperwork", they should WANT to share it with you! They've worked really hard to earn it!
