Elizabeth Galvin's beautiful "Appa"- a fabulous Caspian & Aravis Colorado Mountain Dog
The mission of the Colorado Mountain Dog Association® is to promote the Colorado Mountain Dog as a devoted and reliable guardian of livestock, as well as a faithful and loving family dog, perfectly suited to family farms and ranches. The most unique trait of the CMD is its predictable acceptance of human visitors to the farm.
Objectives of the Colorado Mountain Dog Association®:
To firmly and effectively establish the Colorado Mountain Dog breed as a suitable livestock guardian that is adaptable to the variety of modern-day farms and ranches.
To establish and maintain a breed standard.
To provide a registration process to ensure breed standards are maintained.
To educate breeders and promote responsible breeding and placement of Colorado Mountain Dogs.
To educate and inform buyers of Colorado Mountain Dogs, in order to discourage irresponsible breeding, and to increase the success of Colorado Mountain Dog pups maturing into trustworthy, safe, and dependable guardians.
To provide a community of Colorado Mountain Dog lovers, where members can find direction, guidance, and resources to help them reach their goals in owning Colorado Mountain Dogs.
To establish and encourage regional Colorado Mountain Dog clubs.
